The Guide to L-Mount Cameras and Lenses

The L-Mount, developed by Leica Camera, is a versatile bayonet mount that supports a wide range of photo and video applications. It signifies a collaborative effort known as the L-Mount Alliance, comprising Leica, Panasonic, Sigma, and now includes collaborations with ASTRODESIGN and SAMYANG Optics. Leica, a German brand recognized for high-quality and costly cameras and lenses, launched the L-Mount with the Leica T camera in April 2014. This camera, although no longer produced, was the first to feature the L-Mount system.

One of the key benefits of the L-Mount system is the “mix and match” capability it offers, enabling photographers to use APS-C and full-frame cameras from Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma with lenses from each brand interchangeably.
